About the role
The Calibration Laboratory at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Software Quality Manager 2 for the Linthicum, Maryland location. The role involves leading and managing a team of Metrologists and a Software Team, ensuring the calibration of over 36,000 instruments and devices, maintaining an internally developed application for calibration, and supporting a database for tracking equipment through its calibration cycle.
Responsibilities
- Manage workflows and backlogs for both Metrologists and Software Teams
- Develop metrics and targets for quality and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with relevant requirements and directives
- Lead/implement continuous improvement and root cause/corrective actions
- Determine and implement a CMMI strategy for Software
- Develop, modify, apply, and maintain standards for software quality
- Conduct software inspections, tests, verifications, and validations
- Implement software development and maintenance processes and methods
- Ensure measures meet reliability standards
- Develop overall operating criteria for the software quality program
- Ensure compliance with project, process, and contract requirements
- Review software design, change specifications, and plans
- Perform or direct verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability
- Communicate effectively, organize tasks, and manage a team environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field or Master’s degree with 6 years of related experience
- People management experience
- Experience in technical problem solving, including root cause analysis, solution development, corrective/preventative action, and verification/validation
- Experience with Software and Object-oriented programming languages and their development and maintenance
- Experience managing teams
- Experience with technical and project management
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a STEM field
- Five years of experience managing teams

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $139,800.00 - $209,800.00. The actual offer may vary based on factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
