About the role
The pharmaceutical client based in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Manager, Site Budgets & Contracts to support clinical study startup and ensure investigator sites are ready to enroll on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Develop standard site budget templates using benchmarking tools and historical precedent.
- Oversee CRO-led site budget negotiations; ensure fair market value and escalate issues as needed.
- Directly negotiate with sites when required.
- Identify budget risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure timely execution of budget amendments and alignment with Ready-to-Enroll targets.
- Provide rapid, clear responses to budget inquiries from CROs, sites, and internal teams.
- Partner with CROs and Legal to generate approved CTA templates.
- Serve as first-line support for contract language escalations using approved fallback positions.

- Deliver exceptional customer service to sites, PIs, CROs, and internal teams.
- Prioritize effectively to meet tight clinical timelines.
- Identify process improvements and innovative approaches to site contracting.
- Support negotiation of other vendor agreements or investigator-sponsored trials as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years in biotech/pharma, including 3+ years negotiating site budgets and CTAs across global late-phase studies.
- Deep understanding of site budget structure, cost drivers, and negotiation sticking points.
- Strong knowledge of CTA terms, legal language, and FMV principles.
- Experience with trial cost benchmarking software.
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage high-volume tasks and collaborate across CROs and internal teams.
- Strong grounding in Clinical Operations, GCP, ICH, FDA/EMA guidelines.
