Manager, Site Budgets and Contracts

About the role

The pharmaceutical client based in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Manager, Site Budgets & Contracts to support clinical study startup and ensure investigator sites are ready to enroll on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Develop standard site budget templates using benchmarking tools and historical precedent.
• Oversee CRO-led site budget negotiations; ensure fair market value and escalate issues as needed.
• Directly negotiate with sites when required.
• Identify budget risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure timely execution of budget amendments and alignment with Ready-to-Enroll targets.
• Provide rapid, clear responses to budget inquiries from CROs, sites, and internal teams.
• Partner with CROs and Legal to generate approved CTA templates.
• Serve as first-line support for contract language escalations using approved fallback positions.
• Career Services
• Deliver exceptional customer service to sites, PIs, CROs, and internal teams.
• Prioritize effectively to meet tight clinical timelines.
• Identify process improvements and innovative approaches to site contracting.
• Support negotiation of other vendor agreements or investigator-sponsored trials as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years in biotech/pharma, including 3+ years negotiating site budgets and CTAs across global late-phase studies.
• Deep understanding of site budget structure, cost drivers, and negotiation sticking points.
• Strong knowledge of CTA terms, legal language, and FMV principles.
• Experience with trial cost benchmarking software.
• Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage high-volume tasks and collaborate across CROs and internal teams.
• Strong grounding in Clinical Operations, GCP, ICH, FDA/EMA guidelines.
