Responsibilities
- Monitor service levels in the department and adjust staffing levels as needed
- Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained
- Ensure guest satisfaction by interacting and making sure guest expectations have been achieved
- Maintain a friendly, courteous, and professional relationship with all guests, employees, and vendors (Licensed Store Partners)
- Communicate via email in a professional manner and follow computer use guidelines
- Communicate all departmental needs to the Assistant Director and Director of Food and Beverage
- Complete paperwork, daily reports, menu analysis, cost analysis, monthly Profit and Loss statements, and other necessary financial analysis for the department
- Manage and lead staff including hiring, scheduling, employee counseling, and commendations
- Train employees on steps of service, sequence of service, and hold them accountable to the standards
- Conduct upbeat daily pre-shift meetings and regular staff training meetings
- Ensure all employees have the necessary permits before clocking in
- Ensure all employees meet established uniform standards
- Oversee orders and maintain par levels of inventory for each self-service outlet
- Manage, monitor, and mentor staff to ensure they are following proper policies and procedures
- Actively supervise all department outlets by ensuring areas are constantly maintained for cleanliness
- Ensure daily operational tasks are performed and completed
- Maintain company and departmental health and safety standards
- Ensure necessary tools are provided to staff as needed
- Ensure departmental and company policies are followed
- Achieve service, financial, and human resource goals set forth by senior management
- Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department
- Conduct Quarterly Starbucks Promotional Launch Meeting with Assistant Managers and Cindy Ferris
- Execute Starbucks Quarterly Promotion drink preparation training
- Execute all Starbucks Promotions in compliance with Starbucks Standards and on time
- Create weekly schedules
- Run shifts to cover assistant managers’ days off
- Handle payroll/Kronos, cash variance, and locker audit tracking
- Track employee productivity using Avero
- Manage vacation requests, leaves of absence/FMLA, and personal action notices
- Address employee concerns and resolutions through monthly meetings with Shop Stewards, providing a meeting agenda one week in advance
- Handle employee relations, including grievances and BOA
- Coach, train, and develop staff
- Handle guest complaints
- Mentor and develop the direct management team
- Coordinate with other departments and assist with guest needs
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a high-volume self-serve/grab-and-go restaurant
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
- Minimum 2 years of creative, proven marketing experience (ability to provide a marketing portfolio upon request)
- Mandatory testing on restaurant menu knowledge (information will be provided)
