Manager Security

About the role

The Security Manager directly assists with the overall management of Security Services operations including supervising and coordinating the efforts of the first line supervisors, officers, and the investigator. The Security Manager ensures compliance with AMC policies/practices, as well as compliance with regulatory agencies. The Security Manager runs incident response, conducts risk assessments, acts as the liaison with local law enforcement and acts as the department administrator in the absence of the Director of Security Services.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages Security Services operations
• Serves as the primary point of contact for local law enforcement
• Ensures compliance with AMC policies/practices and regulatory agencies
• Runs incident response and conducts risk assessments
• Liaises with local law enforcement
• Acts as department administrator in the absence of the Director of Security Services

Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required
• Completion of the NYS MPTC Campus Public Safety Officer (CPSO) Course preferred
• Completion of the Basic Course for Police Officers preferred
• Experience in a hospital environment is desirable
• Minimum 5 years experience as Security Officer or Police Officer required
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience required

• Must possess good judgement, emotional control, objectivity and sound decision-making skills
• Must be able to work independently and remain calm, make quick decisions under pressure, and lead teams through high-stress emergencies
• Excellent verbal and written skills for compiling reports and presenting security improvement plans to leadership
• Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position without or with reasonable accommodation
• Ability to coordinate efforts and communicate effectively with all hospital and college constituencies and provide leadership that assures an efficient security function

Pay

$70,068.00 - $108,605.00
