The Manager, SAP Master Data Strategy serves as the Subject Matter Expert in material masters and production master data, responsible for leading, verifying, and supporting SAP data migration activities. This role requires deep knowledge in maintaining master data across material master and production master data, including BOMs, Recipes, Routings, Work Centers, Production Versions, pack specifications, and related manufacturing and EWM master data across SAP systems. The position focuses on data quality, data cleansing, and a strong understanding of production-related master data.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support data migration activities for SAP site rollouts through collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Train, advise, and oversee the master data governance team on new rules specific to site rollouts, transitioning day-to-day new request setup to the team.
  • Lead, verify, and drive master data cutover activities.
  • Act as the SME and train site database stewards on setting up master data specific to the site, including Material Master, BOMs/Routes/work centers, packaging specifications, and other production and EWM-related master data.
  • Advise on day-to-day requests for material and production master data changes, ensuring data is set up accurately and timely based on best practices.
  • Advise, lead, and support quality and PM master data issues as the data expert on material, production, and EWM master data.
  • Proactively surface risks and issues, engaging the stakeholder community to resolve them and define risk mitigations.
  • Develop standards, guidelines, and processes in collaboration with team members to consistently address master data issues such as material and production data standards, data quality rules, and data synchronization.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on the development of material and production master data processes, guidelines, and standards, disseminating them to business, technology, and application teams.
  • Lead data extraction and transformation workshops to identify appropriate field mappings, value mappings, and business rules for Material Master, BOMs, Recipes, Routings, Work Centers, Production Versions, and related production master data objects.
  • Determine and implement the build of data profiling, cleansing, and transformation.
  • Provision medium and complex cleansing rules where required and perform unit testing in tools.
  • Manage various global data migration projects initiated by stakeholders across West.
  • Lead requirements gathering for data migration, work closely with the technical team to develop migration loads, and verify and reconcile data loads against extracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of related work experience.
  • Extensive experience maintaining SAP Master Data objects such as Material Master, BOMs, Recipes, Routings, Work Centers, Production Versions, packaging specifications, and other dependent production and EWM master data.
  • Broad experience in areas such as data governance, data architecture, data integration, data classification, data strategy, data quality management, data security and privacy, MDM, data standards, regulatory compliance, and enterprise architecture frameworks is desired but not essential.

Skills

  • Good understanding of SAP business processes in Production and EWM.
  • Strong understanding of Material Master and Production Master Data dependencies across manufacturing, planning, quality, procurement, warehouse, and supply chain processes.
  • Expertise in using various tools to support and perform mass data changes as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to analyze complex, abstract issues in a logical, structured way.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with all levels in the organization.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and be innovative.
  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
  • Extremely conscientious and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic; utilize sound judgment with the ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment within a global organization.
  • Ability to comply with quality and safety policies.

Schedule

Hybrid position requiring onsite work a minimum of 3 days per week.

Travel Requirements: Up to 10% (approximately 26 business days per year).

Physical Requirements

Sedentary—Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
