Full-time position (0.9–1.0 FTE), Shift 1, 8-hour schedule (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

About the Role

The Director of Operations will focus on the design, delivery, and evaluation of system-wide learning, training, and the development of uniform policies and procedures. This role supports the integration of research, clinic, clinical trials, and education sections within the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center (RADC) system. The position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and ICARE values.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement areas for operational improvement.
  • Participate in strategic planning alongside the Center’s Director and Administrator.
  • Interface with Principal Investigators, Coordinators, and Assistant Coordinators to gather information for system enhancements or new system creation.
  • Collaborate with the Center Director to develop and implement new processes integrating all RADC areas.
  • Ensure NIH studies within the Center are appropriately managed and integrated.
  • Develop and implement new processes and procedures, including updating and standardizing policies across the system.
  • Assess, determine, and coordinate staffing needs for various RADC areas.
  • Participate in employment decisions, including hiring, promotions, and terminations.
  • Develop and implement training programs and materials for new and existing staff.
  • Oversee training for new personnel to ensure their success; supervise trainer(s).
  • Maintain current knowledge of developments in the Data Management department.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Data Management and other RADC areas.
  • Provide continuous guidance and support to all Center areas.
  • Align with the Director’s goals both individually and as part of the management team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business, Health Systems Management, or Health Administration; or a Bachelor’s degree with five years of healthcare management experience in lieu of a Master’s.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead projects to completion.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Capability to multitask, remain flexible, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to make independent judgments, be self-motivated, and use time and resources effectively.
  • Experience working effectively within a team and promoting team building.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people, including faculty and staff.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Pay

Pay range: $32.00 – $46.44 per hour. Rush salaries are determined by factors including education, job-related experience, skills, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. Offers may vary based on individual circumstances.
