What You'll Be Doing
- Responsible for regional plans and objectives that ensure attainment of company service goals, sales goals and profitability.
- Develop regional account manager (AM) staff through coaching and a personal work plan to attain sales and service expectations.
- Monitor employee and regional results to support goal attainment.
- Maintain adequate staff levels through an effective hiring, onboarding, and training process.
- Supervisor responsibilities to include staffing, training and development, performance management, and work force planning.
- Travel and overnight stays are required.
On Any Given Day, You'll
- With input from sales management and administration, establish annual division plans and objectives that ensure attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
- Align and coordinate duties and activities of assigned personnel to achieve sales goals and service standards.
- Develop supporting budget for recommendation and approval.
- Responsible for the performance and development of account managers through a personal action plan to attain service, profitability, and sales objectives.
- Conduct regular coaching, including travel with field staff, to build motivation and selling skills.
- Emphasize staff professional development in support of department guidelines.
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with division managers, underwriting, risk management, and service staff.
- Maintain appropriate staffing through a timely hiring process.
- Conduct onboarding orientation and training for new employees and coordinate additional training with home office Corporate Training.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and salary administration in adherence with company guidelines.
- Review telecommuting guidelines and requirements.
- Track and maintain accurate records of all sales and service activities for region and individual employee performance.
- Take corrective action as needed to meet service and sales standards.
- Provide reports to home office and sales management as required.
- Attend corporate meetings as scheduled.
- Schedule individual team meetings as necessary.
- Continue to develop leadership and industry related skills.
- Maintain insurance license in good standing.
- Maintain Insurance license in good standing and a valid driver's license.
- Supervisor/Manager responsibilities may include all the following:
- Staffing needs, to include interviewing and onboarding for new employees.
- Training and development, as well as coaching and motivation for staff.
- Performance Management, goal setting, employee engagement, and salary administration.
- Workforce Management to include; unit equipment, software, and space needs, approving time off and overtime usage, and budget recommendations.
Here's What We Expect
- Five (5) to seven (7) years successful experience in field insurance sales, sales administration, or related management experience.
- Demonstrated management ability.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Commitment to continuing education toward industry designations is required; advanced degree if agreed upon with management.
- Demonstrated success in field service and/or management.
- Demonstrated leadership, goal achievement, and strategic thinking behaviors.
- Strong written/verbal presentation and listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, maintaining effective working relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated skills in relationship building, decision making, negotiation, communication to include organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and business acumen.
- Ability to understand church & non-profit structure and operations.
- Ability to learn and use proprietary software and Microsoft products and stay current with changes.
- Accepts accountability for individual and division results.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Work Environment
- Works both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- Regularly uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Regularly required to communicate; sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
