About the role

The Manager Region Procurement leads a procurement team for an assigned region, overseeing inventory and obsolescence management, all inventory-related customer KPIs, and branch inventory profiling.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor employees
• Daily review of critical items below minimum, allocations, or stock outs for all responsible branches/distribution centers
• Address and process inventory profiling requests from branches/distribution centers
• Understand and update Eclipse settings to ensure accuracy of replenishment system data (e.g., lead-time, forecasting, standard package, and buy multiplies)
• Explain and instruct purchasing practices and philosophies, including review items for purchase, initiating changes, purchasing product aspects, and vendor metrics (negotiating, monitoring, and maintaining)
• Identify areas for improvement and develop solutions
• Present and discuss corporate inventory management goals and guidelines, including inventory goals, turns and/or days investment, and major vendor changes
• Provide special reporting as requested
• Maintain consistent and timely communications with branches/distribution centers regarding current issues, initiatives, and pertinent topics
• Display a customer service attitude toward branches/distribution centers and build rapport with associates
• Meet or exceed defined inventory metrics for assigned branches/distribution centers and/or assigned supplier lines
• Assist with negotiations of supplier returns to reduce excess/dead stock
• Perform stock procurement/replenishment for assigned branches/distribution centers and/or assigned supplier lines
• Assist branches/distribution centers with supplier review process/workflow request submission
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional purchasing/buying experience in the Electrical Distribution Industry
• Prior supervisory experience a plus
• High School diploma or GED (required)
• 4-year/Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
• Strong data analytics skills and proficiency in Excel
• Effective communication with peers and branch/distribution center personnel
• Ability to build relationships with branch/distribution center leadership and act as a liaison and business partner
