Responsibilities

  • Manage and train quality control staff members.
  • Support pre-funding and post-closing quality control and due diligence functions.
  • Develop and manage Quality Assurance reviews for all auditors for Post-closing and Pre-funding.
  • Recommend quality and operational improvements based on review of findings and auditor scorecards.
  • Prioritize job/staff responsibilities, provide assignments, meet deadlines, and develop project plans/schedules.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and updates, keeping staff informed.
  • Ensure confidential and private customer information remains secure.
  • Review a high volume of loan activity with a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Recognize and relay irregularities and concerns to management.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on underwriting and compliance related to credit risk for internal/external staff and customers.
  • Provide input on processes, procedures, and new approaches.
  • Work effectively and professionally with clients and employees to ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Resolve customer concerns related to work product.
  • Determine Quality-Control trends and issues, implementing solutions as required.
  • Coach others on Quality-Control issues, problems, and questions.
  • Apply in-depth understanding of State and Federal Compliance regulations.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment on critical business matters with significant financial impact.
  • Prepare and update quality control/quality assurance procedures and manuals.
  • Identify and document when company standards or regulations are not followed, ensuring loan files are complete and accurate.
  • Directly supervise Quality Control Auditors and manage output such as reports, audit selection, customer rebuttals, and pre-report delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality Control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5 years of Mortgage Credit Underwriting or Post-Closing QC auditor experience.
  • 5 years of management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Control functions regarding FNMA, FHLMC, FHA/VA, and USDA requirements.
  • Experience performing and reviewing Pre- and Post-Close reviews, Repurchase reviews, Early Payment Default, and Red Flag/Fraud Reviews.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements for real estate lending.
  • Ability to create and administer auditor training, develop and maintain auditor scorecards, and set performance standards.

Skills

  • Self-motivation, detail orientation, and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient PC skills in MS Office, particularly MS Excel and Word.
  • Ability to develop spreadsheets and required documents.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail and strong technical skills with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay

The pay rate range for this position is $96,600 to $221,300. Actual compensation is influenced by skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location.
