Manager, Project Management | Retail Bank Operations Case

About the role

As a Manager Project Manager at Capital One, you will drive strategy and execute on high priority projects for the company. You will work with smart and passionate people to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You will take on important and exciting responsibility from day one, working with key stakeholders across the company to transform customer support by delivering seamless, omnichannel, and intelligent end-to-end servicing experiences.

The Project Manager for Bank Operations plays a pivotal role in this transformation, collaborating with five product and engineering groups (10+ engineering teams and 10+ product managers) and four operations organizations (Bank Voice, Bank Operations, Customer Protection, Enterprise Payments) to identify and define strategic initiatives, track and report on their progress, coordinate with partner teams to ensure efficient and well-managed delivery, and challenge the team to deliver business value across the ecosystem of Bank’s operations. Proficiency in Tableau, Jira, and Snowflake is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Lead moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and direct reports.
• Design, develop, and manage project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements.
• Ensure projects are documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time.
• Leverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent.
• Partner cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery.
• Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments.
• Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project/program efforts.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.
• Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through leadership.
• Use excellent communication and partnership skills to interact and communicate with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform, and influence outcomes.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of Project Management experience.
• At least 1 year of People Management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of Project Management experience.
• 2+ years of People Management experience.
• PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.

Pay

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed-upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

• McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400
• New York, NY: $165,700 - $189,200
• Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700
• Wilmington, DE: $138,100 - $157,700

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
