Job Summary

The Manager of Philanthropy Major Gifts will develop, implement, and manage strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, expanding philanthropic support at the Barrow Neurological Foundation. This role requires proven experience as a fundraising professional with a major gift portfolio and exceptional communication/relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors.
  • Manage and sustain a program that engages and involves Foundation trustees, volunteers, and staff in major gift planning.
  • Identify approved potential programs and projects for major gift support.
  • Participate in the development of cases for support and all the proposals and materials needed to secure donor support of our mission.
  • Devote at least 60 percent of an annual work year's hours to face-to-face contacts with identified, qualified potential and existing major gift donors, as well as identify and engage new prospects.
  • Provide documentation of such activities as part of a moves management program recorded on CRM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of not-for-profit fundraising and development experience.
  • One (1) to three (3) years' direct work experience as a fundraising professional with a major gift portfolio.

  • Exceptional communication/relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience in managing and sustaining a program that engages and involves Foundation trustees, volunteers, and staff in major gift planning.
  • Ability to identify approved potential programs and projects for major gift support.
  • Experience in participating in the development of cases for support and all the proposals and materials needed to secure donor support of our mission.
  • Experience in devoting at least 60 percent of an annual work year's hours to face-to-face contacts with identified, qualified potential and existing major gift donors, as well as identifying and engaging new prospects.
