About the role
A&M is a global consulting firm with a focus on complex valuation techniques. The Valuation Services group, which includes Financial & Tax Reporting Valuation, is growing and looking for a skilled professional to join the team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the valuation of a variety of personal property assets including manufacturing equipment, warehouse equipment, office furniture, fixtures & related equipment; computer equipment & software; laboratory and test equipment; vehicles; tooling, jigs, molds, and dies; leasehold improvements; and construction-in-progress in the context of business combinations, impairment testing and measurement, fresh-start accounting, cost segregation, and other transactions.
- Review and consider company provided information (including financial statements, fixed asset records, and other relevant documentation) to derive indications of value using a variety of approaches including market, cost, and income.
- Analyze market and industry information for use in financial models and other key statistics / inputs.
- Lead the execution of valuation engagements for personal property, including on-site inspections and virtual assessments to determine asset condition, remaining useful life, and market value.
- Lead due diligence calls and meetings with clients.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of associates and analysts.
- Organize and manage internal and client projects, including managing and planning project workflows for project team.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, client requirements, and regulatory requirements (if applicable) across all deliverables.
- Aid in developing narrative reports describing the methodologies used, key assumptions and rationale, and findings.
- Collaborate with other practice groups (e.g., business valuation, real estate, tax advisory) to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
- Support proposal development, scope definition, and pricing strategy for new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of relevant valuation experience, preferably in a Big Four or consulting firm.
- Professional valuation credentials preferred (e.g., ASA, AM, RICS, CMEA) or progress toward certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Willingness to travel for on-site inspections and client meetings.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience with developing and reviewing presentations and reports using MS PowerPoint and Word.
- Effective project management and organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a team-oriented environment.
