Manager, Perioperative Business Services

About the Role

The Manager of Perioperative Business Services provides leadership, direction, and development of the perioperative business office. This role develops and supports effective, comprehensive information management critical to analytical and business support for all surgical services managers, coordinators, and other departments as required. The Perioperative Business Manager directs and coordinates scheduling, management information systems, and billing functions, organizing services to achieve organizational goals. Responsibilities include achieving operational excellence among physicians and managers, improving service delivery, and ensuring compliance with Trinity Health's standards for patient care, customer service, and regulatory requirements.

Areas of collaboration and responsibility include OR scheduling, surgeon block information, OR information management, revenue and expense monitoring, charge capture compliance, OR management reporting, case cost analysis, new procedure cost review, and oversight of SOS and PAS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide effective and comprehensive management information for all perioperative services managers and coordinators.
• Manage and coordinate perioperative scheduling, management information systems, billing functions, capital acquisition, and facility renovations.
• Develop and maintain surgeon block scheduling and ensure accurate management and information system support to optimize resources and ensure customer satisfaction for patients and surgeons.
• Develop and meet departmental budgets according to established procedures, ensuring effective and efficient utilization of resources and providing budget information for the OR Executive Committee.
• Direct the development of policies, procedures, and staffing patterns essential to the day-to-day operation of all departments, maintaining structures that facilitate safe, effective, and patient-focused operations.
• Oversee and maintain accountability for compliance with all regulatory standards, including The Joint Commission, Michigan Department of Public Health, CMMS, and Michigan Hospital Licensing requirements, as well as quality improvement programs.
• Conduct annual reviews and make revisions to meet current trends and organizational needs.

Requirements

• Minimum: Associate’s degree in Nursing required. Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree desired.
• Preferred: Master's Degree in business, management, or other related field.
• Minimum: Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan.
• Preferred: Epic Optime Certification.
• 3-5 years of clinical experience with successive levels of increased responsibility.
• 3-5 years of managerial experience.
• 6-10 years of previous job-related experience preferred.
