The role is based at Ulta Beauty’s corporate offices in Bolingbrook, IL, offering a hybrid work schedule requiring approximately 6 days in the office per month.

About the role

This position leads organizational effectiveness and organizational design at Ulta Beauty, directly connecting with the broader talent strategy. You will translate enterprise talent priorities into practical, scalable solutions that elevate how the organization operates and how leaders lead. This role shapes organizational structure, defines clear leadership expectations, and builds tools and frameworks that create consistency and clarity across the enterprise. Working closely with HR Business Partners and senior leaders, you will embed high-impact leadership practices and drive alignment across corporate, distribution center, and store teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead organizational design work, including structure assessments, spans & layers analysis, and operating model clarity.
  • Build and scale organizational design tools, frameworks, and guidance for consistent use across the enterprise.
  • Serve as a consultant and partner to the business and HR Business Partners for organizational design needs within functional areas.
  • Define and translate leadership expectations into clear, actionable behaviors, tools, and resources.
  • Create practical, leader-facing resources that articulate strong leadership in practice.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to embed consistent, high-quality leadership practices across teams.
  • Support targeted development strategies for senior leaders aligned to succession priorities.
  • Support enterprise leadership experiences (e.g., onboarding and high-potential programs) to ensure alignment to talent strategy.
  • Translate talent strategy into tangible solutions that drive adoption, consistency, and measurable impact.
  • Partner cross-functionally to assess needs, shape solutions, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuously refine tools and approaches based on feedback, outcomes, and evolving business needs.
  • Provide program management support on key talent strategy program designs and implementations, as needed.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of proven experience in organizational design, talent strategy, and leadership effectiveness within a large, complex organization.
  • Strong ability to translate strategy into practical, scalable tools and solutions that drive adoption.
  • Experience partnering across HR and business leadership to influence decisions and drive alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to define clear expectations and translate them into observable leadership behaviors.
  • Strong systems thinker, able to connect organization design, leader effectiveness, and business outcomes.
  • Skilled at balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Highly collaborative, with a track record of building trust and driving alignment across stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Highly collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $106,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year, with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
