What You'll Do on a Typical Day
- Develop, write, maintain and coordinate training modules for a variety of specialties, including quality assurance (QA), powered industrial truck (PIT) operations, pick, pack and ship processes, safety, loss prevention, people management, warehouse management systems (WMS), etc.
- Oversee the development of training videos and/or films; maintain the library of training aids
- Schedule training sessions; ensure facility and audio-visual equipment is set up and that employees are notified
- Develop a means of measuring the effectiveness of training programs through testing, surveys, etc.
- Identify required core competencies and address any skill gaps
- Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and interacting with employees
- Determine and implement career development plans for each training department employee
Requirements
- 4 years of related work experience
- Experience with warehouse management or inventory systems
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and adult training methodologies
- Ability to adhere to the 7S program
- Proven ability to maintain a safe work environment by adhering to and enforcing safe work practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 3 years of management experience
- 2 years of training, teaching or related experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative and visual graphic design ability
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
