About the role

As the Manager, Clinical Services Periop you will provide leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team of perioperative nurses and technicians, ensuring adherence to clinical best practices and regulatory standards. You will develop, implement, and evaluate clinical policies and procedures to optimize patient outcomes and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a multidisciplinary perioperative team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
• Ensure compliance with clinical best practices, regulatory standards, and FHS policies.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical policies and procedures to improve patient safety and satisfaction.
• Manage staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives.
• Monitor key performance indicators, analyze clinical data, and drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other departments to coordinate patient care and optimize resource utilization.
• Identify compliance deficiencies, implement corrective actions, and stay current with changing laws and regulations.
• Utilize electronic medical record systems and related technologies to support daily operations.
• Interpret financial and operational reports, identify improvement opportunities, and implement effective responses.
• Demonstrate effective supervisory skills, including hiring, coaching, conflict management, and performance problem resolution.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Four (4) years of related work experience demonstrating requisite knowledge and abilities.
• At least two (2) years in a charge nurse or leadership position (or equivalent).
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
• Current healthcare provider BLS certification.

• Current laws and regulatory standards and their impact on operations.
• Problem definition, data collection, fact establishment, requirement interpretation, and conclusion drawing.

• Policy, standard, and procedure development and implementation within defined scope.
• Supervisory skills: setting performance expectations, hiring, coaching, conflict management, evaluation, and group facilitation.
• Stress management, prioritization of multiple/conflicting demands.

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Specialty certification such as CNOR, Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN), or Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPN).

Pay

Pay range: $59.50 – $112.50 per hour.
