Manager of Plant Operations
About the Role
Manages the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems and equipment for Facilities Management. Responsibilities include overseeing water, sanitary, steam, gas, electric, and air handling systems, as well as related fixed equipment, rolling and moveable mechanical equipment. Additional duties involve operating the boiler plant, generator plant, chiller plant, medical waste disposal system, and the hospital recycling program.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge and skills equivalent to those acquired by completing a bachelor’s degree program.
- Licensure as a professional engineer is highly desirable.
- Five years of progressively greater responsibility in facilities management.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and supervising a variety of MEP systems in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with environmental standards and ability to perform environmental monitoring as required.
- Working knowledge of NYS codes, JCAHO regulations, and DOH requirements related to the healthcare industry.
Pay
Pay range: $31.94–$51.10 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary based on location.
