Responsibilities
- Ensure high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department
- Monitor and evaluate the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, holding staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives
- Manage nursing practice and unit operations and facilitate effective interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments, ensuring staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs
- Provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience, leveraging various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance
- Build a competitively superior organization through attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent, ensuring people with the right skills and motivations are in the right role, at the right time, to meet business needs
- Manage staff scheduling, maintaining staffing in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines
- Manage operating expenses, including the utilization of supplies and equipment; identify cost reduction opportunities and implements actions to achieve savings
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred; required within 2 years of hire/promotion
- 2+ years applicable experience required
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation required
- BLS, ACLS required
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) required
