About the role
The Manager of Community Day Services at Macon Resources, Inc. (MRI) oversees the planning, development, implementation, operation, and evaluation of the Community Day Services (CDS) program. This role requires the manager to ensure that all programs comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates all CDS services.
- Selects, trains, and develops an effective and efficient staff.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date case records for clients.
- Communicates with staff regarding current problems, changes, and new developments in the agency.
- Administers all policies and procedures as developed by MRI; communicates to staff, interprets as necessary, and confirms compliance.
- Manages CDS in compliance with agency policies and procedures and standards; communicates standards regarding accreditation, licensure and certification to staff; plans and coordinates activities to achieve and maintain the accreditation, licensure and certification of CDS.
- Ensures quality documentation of services by monitoring and/or ensuring the monitoring of CDS case records for accuracy and completeness of required information.
- Collaborates with the Chief Program Officer in the procurement of funds for Community Day Services; strengthens existing services through resource development and management to maximize program and cost effectiveness.
- Communicates, retains, and releases information (both written and verbal) on a need-to-know basis and in accordance with the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act and Macon Resources, Inc. Policies and Procedures.
- Assures CDS maintains revenues and expenditures within acceptable levels by preparing check requests and/or purchase order requests for review; ensuring the preparation of billing, attendance information, client count/timesheets for timely submission.
- Completes in conjunction with the Intake Team and Case Managers to complete referrals and linkages to assure individuals are referred for appropriate services within the agency and for other services provided within the community as they are identified as needs in the interdisciplinary team (IDT) process.
- Communicates, retains, and releases information (both written and verbal) on a need-to-know basis and in accordance with the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act and Macon Resources, Inc. Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field.
- Must meet the requirement of a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP).
- Five or more years of progressively more responsible administrative experience.
- Two years’ work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness.
- Must currently have QIDP status or meet the qualifications to be approved as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) by the State of Illinois.
- Effective communication skills in both oral and written form.
- Ability to manage a 12-month budget.
- Ability to adapt to frequent change and perform adequately when confronted with critical or unexpected issues; make sound clinical judgments based on sound reasoning in daily and emergency situations.
- Ability to write grant requests and develop resources.
- Ability to understand job descriptions and quality control guidelines.
- Able to work a flexible schedule.
- Able to provide quality supervision to paraprofessional and professional staff.
- Able to counsel, advise, teach, resolve conflicts, and direct staff and families.
- Able to complete MRI training requirements.
- Able to maintain payroll, financial, personnel, and information related to persons served as confidential and in accordance with the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act and the Policies and Procedures of Macon Resources, Inc.
- Able to summarize, synthesize, and analyze data/information.
- Able to perform the following: Sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time, bend, twist, stoop or kneel, vision correctable to 20/20 or sufficient to complete job responsibilities, exhibit manual dexterity, adequate hearing, utilize a phone, computer, wordprocessing software and E-mail and the filing system.
