Job Summary and Qualifications

You will have 24-hour responsibility for operational effectiveness within the Sterile Processing Department. You will be responsible for developing, planning, organizing, directing and evaluating functions of the Sterile Processing Department. You will support the Perioperative Services' needs for equipment, supplies, and instrumentation as well as sterile processing functions for the Hospital. Manages personnel engaged in dispensing sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment. You will work in conjunction with Human Resources, interviews job applicants, and provides a quality “work life” for personnel. You will prepare and report on the departmental budget, comply with JCAHO standards, maintain membership in committees, and establish good working relationships with other department managers. You will work in conjunction with Performance Improvement Department and Infection Control on Quality Initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Certification preferred
  • Three years of Operating Room experience and one year of management experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Operating Room Setting and Procedures, Writing, Communication and Computer Skills
