Manager of Central Sterile Processing

Job Summary

The Manager of Central Sterile Processing oversees the daily operations of the department to include staffing, services, quality and finance. The Manager ensures that policies and procedures are in compliance with regulatory agencies.

Essential Job Functions

• Captures and maintains a departmental annual capital and operating budget.
• Communicates any variances to the VP of Operations.
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, department managers and department personnel to support new services and departmental operations.
• Affirms that personnel are appropriately oriented, trained and supervised to enhance the efficiency of operations.
• Acts as a resource on matters related to sterilization, decontamination, and surgical instruments and equipment.
• Values and communicates recommendations to the VP of Operations regarding space, facilities, equipment, supplies and staffing levels.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program for nursing preferred; associate degree or baccalaureate program.
• Minimum experience of two years in the OR and one year in a management position.
• Two years experience in sterile processing is preferred.
