Manager Nursing 3 East KMH

Responsibilities

• Works productively with all levels of unit personnel, as well as physicians, families, visitors, and manages the activities of a diverse group of professional, nonprofessional, and clerical employees.
• Communicates effectively through strong written and verbal skills, including active listening.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and resolves problems positively.
• Maintains deadlines for coordinating data collection.
• Promotes optimal orientation and continuing education for staff through teaching abilities.
• Keeps current on healthcare trends and issues and applies this knowledge to the hospital and work area environment.
• Uses computer programs and other office equipment as needed.
• Manages budget and fiduciary responsibilities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in the State of New York.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing required, MSN preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• National certification in a related clinical area or leadership within two years of hire.
• Three (3) or more years of clinical nursing experience or charge nurse experience.
• Leadership experience preferred.
