Responsibilities

  • Develop clear goals for staff each year that support company goals and objectives
  • Develop a coaching strategy for staff to achieve or exceed goals and objectives
  • Regularly review performance with staff
  • Help staff focus on what is within their control to achieve success
  • Celebrate success and learn from challenges
  • Quickly address performance issues in a constructive manner
  • Create positive accountability and follow-up to achieve goals
  • Develop clear vision, goals, and objectives for the department that support company goals and objectives and keep team members focused on high performance
  • Implement a strategy for departments to examine and improve key processes used every day
  • Develop clear departmental strategy to achieve measurable and financial goals
  • Cook off team member scheduling and staffing to ensure excellent customer service and response is achieved
  • Provide a regular feedback strategy for the department to evaluate results and make improvements
  • Responsible for executing end-to-end supply trades, hedging and scheduling of both natural gas and electricity
  • Responsible for managing team of energy schedulers
  • Responsible for balancing Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems
  • Utilize internal and external systems for posting, tracking, and status reporting of retail energy supply transaction related information
  • Subject matter expert on interstate pipeline scheduling, storage management, LDC scheduling, ISO scheduling and associated reporting and reconciliation
  • Document and maintain operational guides and training materials
  • Provides rapid response to resolve requests from sales, risk management or the finance department
  • Resolve issues and disputes accurately within the internally defined timelines
  • Maintain working knowledge of procedures necessary to support wholesale operational needs
  • Provide overflow escalation support as needed for growing firm
  • Special projects, research and ad hoc analysis as requested
  • Regulatory reporting support as needed

Requirements

  • Formal Education & Certification - BA in finance, economics, statistics, applied math, applied engineering preferred (Masters is desired)
  • Knowledge & Experience - Equivalent work experience required
  • 5+ years of natural gas pricing and transportation
  • Able to interact with SQL
  • Experience with asset pricing, risk modeling is preferred
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

  • Comfortable with multi-tasking and dynamic priorities
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, strong curiosity and interest in learning
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Team player attitude is required
  • Strong time management skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel
  • Experience working with or within a retail energy company

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work schedule available once training is completed (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
