Manager, Mechatronics Maintenance - 1st Shift

About the role

As the Mechatronics Maintenance Manager, you will utilize a combination of mechanical, electrical, computer and software skills to work with smart technologies, such as robots, automated guided systems and computer-integrated manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the team and provide training and coaching to improve performance
  • Perform continuous operational checks of equipment and perform preventive maintenance
  • Repair and replace defective electrical and mechanical parts on equipment
  • Capable of working at heights of up to 125 feet when required, climbing a 15ft vertical ladder, entering a small, confined space, rotating neck, bending at the waist and head, stooping, arching backward, twisting, squatting, crouching, kneeling, and crawl, lie down and operate foot controls
  • Lift /carry/push/pull equipment of various weight
  • Able to reach, sit, walk, stand, balance, climb stairs, use ladders, lifts, and various other mobile equipment
  • Able to safely use hand/arm protection (gloves), hearing/head protection (earmuffs and helmets)
  • Able to work around electromagnetic fields due to various types of production equipment
  • Able to operate in a high noise exposure environment

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience maintaining Industrial Electronic and Electrical systems (related academic coursework in Industrial Electronics/Robotics/Mechatronics counts towards experience)
  • Ability to work at heights up to 125 feet above ground level and pass Fall Protection Training
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong analytical thinking
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
  • Strong knowledge of design techniques and tools
  • Proficiency in computers and electronics
  • Knowledge of production processing

Qualifications

Skills

  • Certification or higher in Mechatronics, Industrial Robotics, Electronics, Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Worked in a Food and Beverage environment
  • Understanding of SQF (Safe Quality Foods) certification
  • Led troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of advanced automated systems, including FANUC robotics, 5-axis robotic systems, and AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles)
  • Maintained and optimized Ishida scaling equipment and Rovema packaging systems, ensuring high efficiency and minimal downtime in production environments
  • Programmed, configured, and troubleshot Allen-Bradley PLCs and control systems using Studio 5000 and RSLogix
  • Designed, developed, and modified HMI interfaces to improve operator usability and system diagnostics
  • Utilized SICK scanners and sensors for automation safety and process control in high-speed environments
  • Interpreted schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues
  • Executed and documented preventive and predictive maintenance programs, reducing equipment failures and extending asset life
  • Engineered and implemented continuous improvement projects, enhancing system performance, throughput, and reliability
  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement facility and equipment design improvements
  • Experienced working with computer-integrated manufacturing systems and advanced distribution automation technologies
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced, high-noise industrial environments
  • 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience
  • Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment
  • Warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL) experience
