Manager, Mechatronics Engineering
Position Title
Summary
Position Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Leads, coaches, and develops a team of mechatronics engineers and technical professionals
- Fosters a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative culture
- Provides direction and oversight to cross-functional project teams
- Establishes team priorities, allocates resources, and ensures alignment with organizational goals
Product Development & Program Leadership
- Owns and drives the full lifecycle of mechatronic product development initiatives
- Led multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets
- Translates product requirements into executable engineering plans
- Partners closely with Product Management and Marketing to align deliverables with customer and market needs
Technical & Strategic Oversight
- Provides technical leadership in mechatronics system design, automation, and integration
- Guides architectural decisions to ensure alignment with long-term product strategy
- Evaluates risks, troubleshoots complex technical challenges, and implements effective solutions
Operational & Financial Management
- Develops and manages project budgets, forecasts, and resource plans
- Maintains financial performance and drives cost optimization initiatives as needed
- Ensures compliance with company policies, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serves as a key liaison between Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Executive Leadership
- Communicates project status, risks, and performance metrics to senior leadership
- Collaborates with external partners, suppliers, and customers as needed
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required; Master’s degree preferred
- 8+ years of progressive experience in mechatronics, automation, or product development engineering
- 3+ years of leadership experience with direct or matrix team management
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of mechatronics systems, automation, and integrated product development
- Experience with CAD tools such as NX, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD
Leadership & Business Skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive results in a fast-paced environment
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business insights
- Primarily office-based with occasional interaction in lab or production environments
- Sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods
- Occasional travel (up to 10–15%) may be required
