Manager Laboratory - Satellite Laboratories

What We Offer

The Satellite Laboratory Manager has 24 hour accountability and responsibility for laboratory operations in the Clinical Core Sciences across the network including Pender Medical Center, Scotts Hill Medical Center, NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital, etc.

Responsibilities

• Planning, standardizing, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, coordination, and human resource activities
• Assuring quality of laboratory testing
• Ensuring the education and development of staff and students
• Assisting technical staff as a technical resource
• Control over all human, financial, and informational resources allotted to the cost center
• Consulting with the medical director for advice and input
• Working with the Senior Director of Laboratory Services and other Laboratory and network managers to implement strategic initiatives of the organization
• Assuring that the standards of the CAP, AABB and DNV are met
• Ensuring regulatory compliance with CLIA and laboratory billing
• Direct reports include Medical Lab Assistant I and IIs, Technical Section Leads, Medical Lab Scientists and Medical Laboratory Technicians

Requirements

• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology/Medical Lab Sciences, required
• 3 years management or supervisory position, required
• 8 years laboratory experience, required
• MLS (ASCP) or Equivalent licensure/certification, required
• Specialty Certification, preferred
• Record of demonstrated successful performance with progressive increase in the level of responsibilities, required
