About the role
Abrazo Scottsdale Campus is seeking an innovative and experienced healthcare leader to drive excellence and inspire the team toward exceptional patient outcomes and operational success in the Laboratory Clinical Manager position. This role involves single or multi-department management of operations, with responsibility for day-to-day oversight, staff supervision, policy enforcement, and budgetary accountability. The Clinical Manager ensures the highest degree of quality patient care, maintains laboratory equipment, and upholds regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Manages the collection of specimens and oversees testing procedures.
- Maintains laboratory equipment with maintenance logs to ensure safe operation.
- Ensures quality initiatives are established and maintained within all areas of the department.
- Identifies quality failures as they occur and implements corrective actions.
- Develops and delivers laboratory training programs for staff.
- Evaluates new procedures, equipment, and products for use in the lab.
- Hires, fires, trains, evaluates performance, and supervises staff to provide professional, courteous, and timely services.
- Maintains and manages CAP survey testing and documentation for accreditation.
- Approves timekeeping, maintains staffing levels, and ensures compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
- Manages supply orders and participates in department strategic planning.
- Performs other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field, or equivalent minimum experience requirements.
- Qualified to perform highly complex testing per CLIA 88 personnel guidelines.
- Three years of experience as a Technologist, with supervisory and/or lead experience.
- Licensed by NCA, ASCP, HEW/HHS, or AMT in all clinical areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Management experience with two years of supervisory experience.
