About the role
This role serves as a member of the IT Management Team, focusing on the management, development, and leadership of a specialized team in architecting pharmacy-specific digital solutions.
Responsibilities
- Leading the specific functional responsibilities of your team, overseeing team performance and deliverables.
- Developing and executing the strategic vision and plan for your team, ensuring alignment with the company's and IT Division's goals.
- Merging advanced leadership with deep technical and domain expertise to drive the strategic vision of the IT Pharmacy Management Team.
- Architecting pharmacy-specific digital solutions, ensuring rigorous regulatory compliance within healthcare frameworks, and spearheading AI-driven optimizations.
- Managing the critical infrastructure powering the Pharmacy IT ecosystem, including Workflow applications, audit reporting, and patient digital engagement platforms like Instacart integration and Mail-order delivery.
- Overseeing the execution of bi-annual vulnerability scanning and annual penetration testing, ensuring audit logs and technical controls (Universal MFA, encryption) are mapped and verifiable for OCR audits.
- Maintaining an active, living inventory of all connected pharmacy devices (IoT, scales, tablets) and ePHI data flows to ensure compliance with the 2026 "zero-trust" HIPAA model.
- Ensuring all Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) contracts include and enforce the 24-hour breach notification requirement, minimizing legal and operational exposure from vendor-side incidents.
Requirements
- 5+ years in high-volume, regulated pharmacy environments.
- Expertise in Pharmacy Enterprise RX (EPS) systems, central fill, and order fulfillment.
- Deep mastery of PBM/Payer connectivity, real-time adjudication (BIN/PCN), and Schedule II Controlled Substances (CII) management.
- Proficiency in regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, 2026 Security Rule compliance) and clinical safety protocols (DUR, U&C pricing).
- Applied experience with AI and intelligent automation for task optimization, predictive analytics for medication adherence, and pharmacy labor models.
- Experience managing multiple delivery pods and shared groups in large-scale enterprise environments, including SaaS and outsourcing models.
- Expertise in healthcare interoperability frameworks (FHIR) and medical coding systems (RxNorm, SNOMED-CT, ICD-10, HL7v2 and NCPDP).
- Deep knowledge of global data privacy (HIPAA, GDPR, PIPEDA, PIPL) and cross-border governance.
Qualifications
- Professional experience overseeing RESTful API design, vendor-integrated ecosystems, and third-party delivery protocols (e.g., Instacart).
- Strong background in API-driven pricing (U&C, NDC synchronization, formulary updates) and "Right Architecture" strategies (Buy-for-speed/Build-for-differentiation) to mitigate technical debt and manage code quality.
- Demonstrated expertise in vendor contract negotiation, strategic partnership management, and overseeing the risks associated with contractor-led development.
- Proven success managing hybrid delivery models (Agile/Waterfall) and scalable global solutions.
- Experience with healthcare interoperability frameworks (FHIR) and medical coding systems (RxNorm, SNOMED-CT, ICD-10, HL7v2 and NCPDP).
- Knowledge of global data privacy (HIPAA, GDPR, PIPEDA, PIPL) and cross-border governance.

$137,000 - $210,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible.
