About the Role
As a Warehouse Department Manager at iHerb, you will provide leadership and direction in a high-volume outbound, B2C small parcel environment. You will supervise and coordinate activities related to picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and fulfillment to ensure same-day shipping both nationally and internationally via expedited carrier services. Your role will focus on maintaining a safe, effective, and orderly work environment, scheduling, continuous process improvement, and fostering positive vendor relationships.
Responsibilities
- Order department supplies as needed.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver products in a timely fashion.
- Issue written and oral instructions to improve team efficiency.
- Study and standardize procedures to enhance operational workflows.
- Maintain harmony among team members and resolve grievances.
- Confer with other managers within the distribution center to ensure coordination of warehouse activities.
- Collaborate with managers outside the distribution center to align functions such as inventory management and quality assurance.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Assist in resolving issues related to order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, and invoicing.
- Document and maintain all warehouse procedures for receiving, replenishing, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Improve and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Evaluate and plan labor for upcoming warehouse needs.
- Engage in typical managerial responsibilities, including evaluating, organizing, integrating, and delegating tasks.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all warehouse department activities in compliance with company policies, OSHA, and government regulations.
- Monitor and manage team member performance, including administering write-ups and counseling.
- Contain and reduce costs while driving productivity within the department.
- Cooperate in a cross-functional manner as a change agent with all departments.
- Manage workflow to meet planned department productivity standards.
- Oversee and direct 3rd party vendor activities.
- Train new or newly assigned team members on proper methods and standard operating procedures.
- Work closely with the global logistics team and external shipping services to ensure on-time delivery of packages.
- Ensure correct shipment of domestic, international, and dangerous goods orders.
- Complete special projects as determined.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7-10 years of supervisory warehouse experience in an automated environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Office.
- Excellent organizational and managerial skills.
- Strong communication skills—written, oral, reading, and understanding.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
Skills
- Able to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise, and diplomacy.
- Ability to use reasoning skills and determine when to escalate issues in a timely manner.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move around the facility.
- May include lifting up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise level in a hectic, fast-paced environment with multi-level distractions.
- Professional yet casual work environment within a warehouse setting.
- Ability to work extended hours as required.
Pay
The expected salary range for this role is $85,000 USD. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as the candidate's relevant experience, education, geographic location, and internal equity.
