About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults on action plans to achieve departmental and overall store responsibilities, and serves as a supervisor in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

  • Affords knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
  • Ensures the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures.
  • Assists in managing a team and keeping up with overall goals and profits.
  • Performs general administrative duties as needed.
  • Assists in promoting and selling services and merchandise.
  • Protects the company's assets and financial information.
  • Supervises employees in the absence of the Store Manager.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • One to three years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
  • Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
  • Passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in each product area or department in the store.
  • Promotes each sale and/or promotion.
  • Serves as an ambassador of Hibbett I City Gear creating a unique customer experience.
