About the role
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults on action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.
Responsibilities
- Aid in establishing action plans to achieve departmental and overall store responsibilities.
- Assure quality customer service and maintain inventory, sales statistics, and expenses.
- Direct staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
- Inform the Store Manager about inventory movements and customer trends.
- Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers.
- Assume supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.
- Train employees in the Store Manager's responsibilities.
- Practice and uphold all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Protect company assets and financial information.
Requirements
- Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- 1-3 years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage a team and meet overall goals and profits.
- Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in each product area or department.
- Promotes merchandise and services.
- Trained in the Store Manager's responsibilities.
