About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

  • Aid the Store Manager in setting and achieving departmental and overall store goals.
  • Assist in inventory management, sales, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
  • Provide guidance to employees and customers across all departments.
  • Ensure profitability in all departments by keeping track of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses.
  • Communicate with the Store Manager about inventory movement and customer trends.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service.
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed.
  • Practice and uphold all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Protect company assets and financial information.
  • Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage a team and achieve overall goals and profits.
  • Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team-player with a passion for outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some college coursework preferred.
