About the role
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.
Responsibilities
- Aid the Store Manager in setting and executing departmental and overall store responsibilities, including selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
- Assume full responsibility of the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Guide employees and customers in all departments as necessary.
- Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to maintain profitability in all departments.
- Ensure quality customer service is maintained across the store.
- Perform general administrative duties as needed and be trained in the Store Manager's responsibilities.
- Provide extraordinary customer service, including helping customers as they enter the store and managing multiple customers during peak periods.
- Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
- Practice and uphold all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards.
- Protect the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and reporting any potential fraud risks to management.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- One to three years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage a team and achieve overall goals and profits.
- Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks independently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
- Team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
