About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

  • Aid the Store Manager in setting and executing departmental and overall store responsibilities.
  • Assure quality customer service and maintain inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Direct staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
  • Inform the Store Manager of inventory movements and customer trends.
  • Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Resolve problems within the team.

Requirements

  • Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • One to three years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage a team and achieve overall goals and profits.
  • Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and merchandise selling.

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in each product area or department in the store.
  • Promotes sales and merchandise in stores.
  • Upholds policies, procedures, and standards listed in manuals.
  • Protects company assets and financial information.
