About the role
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.
Responsibilities
- Aid the Store Manager in setting and executing departmental and overall store responsibilities.
- Assure quality customer service and maintain inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
- Direct staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
- Inform the Store Manager of inventory movements and customer trends.
- Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Resolve problems within the team.
Requirements
- Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- One to three years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage a team and achieve overall goals and profits.
- Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and merchandise selling.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in each product area or department in the store.
- Promotes sales and merchandise in stores.
- Upholds policies, procedures, and standards listed in manuals.
- Protects company assets and financial information.
