Manager In Training- Part Time

About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Aid in asset management and establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities.
• Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to complete departmental responsibilities and maintain quality customer service.
• Inform the Store Manager about inventory movements and customer trends.
• Perform general administrative duties and carry out supervisory responsibilities.
• Offer extraordinary customer service, including helping customers and managing multiple customers during peak periods.
• Promote and sell merchandise while upholding company policies and procedures.
• Ensure accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and report any potential fraud risks.

Requirements

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• One to three years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team and achieve overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
