Manager In Training (Part-Time)
About the role
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear. They consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Manager in Training assumes full responsibility of the store, guides employees, and maintains high-quality customer service.
Responsibilities
- Aid in establishing action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities under the supervision of the Store Manager.
- Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments as needed.
- Be aware of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
- Ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed by keeping the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
- Practice and uphold all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards as listed in various manuals and memos.
- Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and reporting any potential fraud risks to management.
- Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager.
Requirements
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- One to three years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
- A self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
- A team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
Qualifications
