Manager in Training (Part-Time)

About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear. They consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. In the absence of the Store Manager, they assume full responsibility of the store, guiding employees and customers, and maintaining quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Affords knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Ensures inventory, sales statistics, and expenses are monitored to maintain profitability.
• Directs staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
• Communicates with the Store Manager about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Provides extraordinary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual.
• Promotes and sells merchandise and services provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Enforces and upholds all company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Protects company assets and financial information through accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud.

Requirements

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• One to three years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team and achieve overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Team player with passion for outstanding customer service and merchandise selling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
