About the role
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear. They consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities, including selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Affords knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
- Ensures inventory, sales statistics, and expenses are monitored to maintain profitability in all departments.
- Directs staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
- Updates the Store Manager on inventory movement and customer trends.
- Maintains high-quality customer service.
- Performs general administrative duties as needed and is trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
- Provides extraordinary customer service, including assisting customers as they enter the store and handling multiple customers during peak periods.
- Promotes and sells services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
- Enforces and upholds all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Protects company assets and financial information through accurate internal control procedures and reporting potential fraud risks to management.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- One to three years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage a team and meet overall goals and profits.
- Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and precisely.
- Team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
