About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in asset management and establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities.
  • Assure quality customer service and maintain inventory, sales statistics, and expenses.
  • Direct staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
  • Inform the Store Manager about inventory movement and customer trends.
  • Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
  • Assume supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.
  • Train employees and manage a team towards achieving goals and profits.
  • Handle multiple tasks with precision and attention to detail.
  • Practice and uphold all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Protect company assets and financial information through accurate internal control procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • One to three years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in each product area or department in the store.
  • Promotes sales and merchandise within the store.
  • Trained in the Store Manager's responsibilities.
