About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

  • Aid the Store Manager in setting and executing departmental and overall store responsibilities.
  • Assure quality customer service and maintain store standards.
  • Manage inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Train and guide employees and customers in all departments.
  • Communicate with the Store Manager on inventory movement and customer trends.
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed.
  • Provide extraordinary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual.
  • Protect company assets and financial information through internal control procedures.
  • Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager.

Requirements

  • Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in each product area or department.
  • Trained in the Store Manager's Responsibilities.
