About the role
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.
Responsibilities
- Aid the Store Manager in setting and achieving departmental and overall store goals.
- Assist in inventory management, sales, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
- Provide guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
- Ensure profitability across all departments by monitoring inventory movement and customer trends.
- Communicate with the Store Manager to maintain quality customer service.
- Perform general administrative duties and carry out supervisory responsibilities.
- Offer exceptional customer service, including helping customers as they enter the store and managing multiple customers during peak periods.
- Promote and sell merchandise while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Protect company assets and financial information through accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud.
Requirements
- Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- One to three years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Passion for outstanding customer service and merchandise selling.
