About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

  • Aid the Store Manager in setting and achieving departmental and overall store goals.
  • Assist in inventory management, sales, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
  • Provide guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
  • Ensure profitability across all departments by monitoring inventory movement and customer trends.
  • Communicate with the Store Manager to maintain quality customer service.
  • Perform general administrative duties and carry out supervisory responsibilities.
  • Offer exceptional customer service, including helping customers as they enter the store and managing multiple customers during peak periods.
  • Promote and sell merchandise while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Protect company assets and financial information through accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud.

Requirements

  • Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • One to three years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Passion for outstanding customer service and merchandise selling.
