About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults on action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

  • Affords knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
  • Ensures each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
  • Keeps the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
  • Maintains quality customer service.
  • Performs general administrative duties as needed.
  • Promotes and sells services and merchandise.
  • Protects company assets and financial information.
  • Supervises employees in the absence of the Store Manager.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
  • Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
  • Team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in each product area or department in the store.
  • Passionate about giving outstanding customer service and promoting merchandise.
