Manager Imaging Services (Pontiac)

Position Summary: Provides overall technical direction and administration to imaging services personnel, ensuring system of testing operates efficiently and effectively. Regularly reviews and revises, as necessary, imaging services standards and ensures diagnostic procedures performed comply with all hospital, system and regulatory agency standards. Coordinates provision of imaging services with other medical functions and serves as technical resource for departmental personnel. As an expert in the assigned unit, is a resource person to both staff and physicians.

• Plans and administers directly, and through subordinate supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with all hospital, system and regulatory agency standards.
• Affords assistance in ensuring quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met.
• Affords assistance in developing and administering capital and operating budgets in order to meet agreed-upon departmental goals and objectives. Implements appropriate methods to monitor adherence to budgets and resolve variances.
• Serves as technical resource to subordinates in resolving complex problems and in investigating and recommending corrective actions in response to incident reports and/or patient complaints.
• Affords assistance in recommendations for department equipment modifications, new supplies and minor equipment purchases.
• Fosters smoothly running imaging services functions through timely and effective resolution of disruptions.
• Affords assistance in ensuring the attainment of objectives through the selection, development, training and evaluation of imaging services staff.
• Ensures that all imaging services activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal and governmental regulations and laws.

Qualifications

• Registry in imaging discipline
• Five years of job-related experience
• Current BLS certification

• Preferred: Supervisory experience within the healthcare industry.
• Preferred: Current knowledge of ACR accreditation requirements and audits.
• Preferred: Certified Radiology Administrator.
• Preferred: Knowledge of P4P impact on hospitals.
