About the Role

Under general supervision, this position oversees a single site/account or fleet, including support personnel and drivers. The role focuses on optimizing company assets by monitoring revenue and costs through effective budget analysis, and prioritizing customer satisfaction through problem-solving, communication, and relationship building. This position is typically located on-site at the customer's facility and requires flexibility in scheduling, including day shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts to ensure operational success.

Responsibilities

  • Promote, manage, and maintain a positive work environment to improve operational efficiency, employee engagement, and driver retention.
  • Create and execute plans for forecasted freight volumes and power/equipment needs; adjust capacity to ensure seamless fleet/carrier and equipment coverage.
  • Train on and audit all processes and procedures for day-to-day operations while identifying and implementing process enhancements.
  • Communicate with customers, internal departments, and team members to identify and resolve operational issues throughout the day and when on call.
  • Manage assigned fleet operations, including driver board coverage, customer service, safety, compliance, driver retention, and employee scorecard management.
  • Oversee financial performance, including cost control, expense management, and maximizing profitability; evaluate and present design versus actual data analysis for each customer.
  • Compile reports on operational, financial, and service metrics regularly and as needed; monitor and resolve deviations from key performance indicators.
  • Ensure fleet compliance with all Safety and DOT training; partner with internal personnel to address specific safety needs for fleets or drivers.
  • Facilitate employee training and development; monitor performance progress to promote, engage, and retain employees through evaluations, individual development plans, and recognition programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers/ramp to provide exceptional service and ensure trouble-free account safety, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Provide input in the creation of an annual budget, audit current-year performance, and provide feedback to stakeholders regarding budget updates due to operational changes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with 3-4 years of supervisory experience or military equivalent, or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field with 1-2 years of supervisory experience and/or military equivalent.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record as per company standards.
  • Ability to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed.
  • Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable.

  • Ability to form and manage effective teams.
  • Understand the resources required to achieve business objectives and plan, mobilize, and distribute resources accordingly.

Pay

The expected starting pay range for this position is between $70,000 and $87,500. Compensation factors may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may also be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes.
