About the role
We currently have a great opportunity for a Manager, HRIS and Benefits. This role is responsible for managing systems and processes in the areas of HR payroll, SAP/SF HRIS, benefits planning, administration, compliance, and key HR projects. The position reports directly to the Director of HRIS & Benefits.
Responsibilities
- Manages the operations of all U.S. and Canada health and welfare benefit plans (including wellness initiatives) and ensures full compliance with all regulations, working effectively with Finance and all brokers/providers.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge and expertise in employee benefits services, responds to benefits issues, and answers complex benefits questions.
- Manages all compliance-related activities for benefit plans (non-retirement) in the U.S. and Canada.
- Responsible for the communication and training of benefit plans.
- Works closely with all benefit providers and systems to ensure annual enrollment changes and ongoing status changes are processed accurately and on time.
- Manages the design and testing of HRIS systems, automated processes, and reporting tools.
- Responsible for testing system functionality and integrations related to HRIS data, benefits, and integrated HR systems.
- Harmonizes with Payroll, IT, additional regions (when needed), and third-party vendors on system updates, enhancements, and issue resolution.
- Provides escalated support for STD, LTD, and FMLA claims.
- Manages HRIS data entry processes to ensure accurate data and serves as a full HR payroll backup to the team.
- Manages reporting processes to ensure accurate data and troubleshoots errors in HRIS and HR/benefit portals.
- Works with Information Systems to test and resolve complex errors.
- Acts as the liaison to IT and Payroll for all HRIS-related changes, including the employee and manager portals.
- Advises management on organizational policy matters related to HRIS and benefits.
- Leads, develops, and mentors a local team of professionals across HRIS, benefits, and/or systems functions.
- Fosters a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making within the team.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Travel Percentage: 10%
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in HRIS and benefits, with strong expertise in human resources information systems.
- Previous experience as an HR Manager or Sr. Level Generalist in a public sector setting.
- PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems, preferably SAP/Success Factors, Benefits Focus, and/or ADP.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic and evolving organization.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Must be able to work with confidential information.
