About the role
As the Food Service Manager, you will assist the Director with managing all aspects of the operational needs of the Food & Nutrition Department, coordinate tasks with the Director and Supervisor, and ensure the overall efficiency of food and nutrition services. You will assume authority and responsibilities during the Food Service Director’s absence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the scheduling, training, hiring, coaching, and development of all team members
- Ensure that food is properly portioned, plates are attractively presented, and service meets established standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, infection control practices, and facility policies
- Ensure that the team complies with safety regulations and adheres to all company policies and procedures
- Work closely with the Registered Clinical Dietitian
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum three years’ supervisory experience in hospital food and nutrition required

- Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data
- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Ability to work under pressure and meet established criteria
- Ability to apply a participative approach to leading staff, to coordinate and prioritize tasks, and to develop budgets with a complete understanding of facility needs and requirements
- Excellent stress management skills, administrative and organizational, and follow-through skills
- Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Health system or hospital background
