Responsibilities

  • Support the administration and performance management of owned and managed asset portfolios.
  • Cook up and maintain operational, financial, and portfolio reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead or support cross-functional projects involving multiple business units and strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with finance, commercial, operations, legal, engineering, and other teams to support business objectives.
  • Analyze portfolio performance and develop recommendations to improve business outcomes.
  • Support acquisition, disposition, investment, and asset optimization initiatives.
  • Aid with forecasting, planning, budgeting, and business performance reviews.
  • Manage documentation, governance processes, approvals, and stakeholder communications.
  • Develop presentations, reports, and materials for leadership, business partners, and governance committees.
  • Monitor market trends, customer activity, and industry developments to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts and system enhancement initiatives.
  • Serve as a key liaison between internal teams, external partners, and asset owners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience managing projects, portfolios, assets, operations, finance, or business processes.
  • Ability to analyze information and provide recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working across multiple functions and collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of lease structuring and accounting, other deal experience.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with a focus on detail and reporting metrics.
  • Rail knowledge is a plus.

Other

  • Travel requirements are flexible and will evolve as the individual defines his or her approach to the role.
  • Minimal travel to maintenance facilities and industry committee meetings will be required.
  • This position is based in the Chicago Corporate office and considered hybrid with 60% in office attendance required.
