About the role

The Manager-Financial Accounting and Reporting oversees the preparation, analysis, and management of financial reports and budgets within a healthcare organization. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, supports strategic planning, and drives fiscal accountability while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The position collaborates closely with finance leadership, clinical departments, and operational teams to improve financial performance and support high-quality patient care.

This full-time position reports to the Director of Financial Accounting and Reporting and is responsible for overseeing the accounting, reporting, and budgeting function for related facilities. The role partners with finance, clinical, and operational leaders to support informed decision-making, standardization, and continuous improvement across systems, processes, and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly financial reporting packages (internal and external, in adherence with GAAP).
• Manage annual operating budgets, projections, variance analysis, and account analysis.
• Implement procedural and reporting improvements.
• Develop effective business relationships across departments.
• Manage a mid-sized team, including planning, assigning personnel, and allocating resources.
• Recommend and collaborate with senior leaders to resolve tactical/operational issues.
• Provide guidance to direct reports, including performance reviews and mentorship.
• Ensure team adherence to operating plans and budgets.
• Coordinate and monitor the work of external vendors as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (required).
• Master’s degree (preferred, e.g., MBA or MHA).
• 4–6 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in the healthcare industry.
• Knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with financial systems, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present financial data to non-financial audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and motivation for continuous process improvement.
