Manager Facility Operations
Job Summary
The Manager, Facility Operations is responsible for leading the daily maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of T-Mobile Center to ensure the facility is safe, functional, and event-ready at all times. This position oversees building systems, preventive maintenance programs, facility improvements, and the day-to-day activities of the Facility Operations team while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and presentation.
Essential Duties
Facility Operations & Building Systems
Oversee the daily operation, inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance of all building systems, including:
HVAC systems
Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Plumbing systems
Electrical systems
Lighting control systems
Emergency generators
Fire pumps
Domestic water systems
Sewage ejector systems
Mechanical equipmentMonitor facility performance and identify operational improvements to maximize reliability and efficiency. Ensure all building systems are maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, applicable codes, and organizational standards.
Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate corrective actions as necessary.
Maintain preventive maintenance schedules that minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life. Participate in maintenance work as needed to support operational requirements.
Leadership & Staff Development
Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate Facility Operations team members. Assign daily work priorities and monitor progress to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards.Provide ongoing training in maintenance procedures, equipment operation, safety practices, and departmental expectations. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Assist with recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management activities.
Project & Contractor Management
Coordinate facility improvement projects, equipment replacements, and capital maintenance initiatives. Manage relationships with contractors, service providers, and vendors performing work within the facility.Solicit and evaluate contractor proposals, quotations, and bids while ensuring quality, cost effectiveness, and timely completion. Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with safety requirements, project specifications, and contractual obligations.
Maintain project documentation and communicate project status to Operations leadership.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Promote and enforce all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable building codes. Conduct routine facility inspections to identify safety concerns and corrective maintenance needs.Maintain compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements applicable to the facility.
Operational Planning
Assess facility conditions on an ongoing basis and prioritize maintenance activities based on operational impact. Develop standard operating procedures for facility maintenance and operational consistency.Support event operations by coordinating facility readiness before, during, and after events.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in facility operations, building maintenance, engineering, or commercial property maintenance, including supervisory responsibilities.
Demonstrated knowledge of commercial building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems.
Experience leading preventive maintenance programs and facility operations within a commercial or public assembly environment.
Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
Excellent project management, organizational, and planning abilities.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external contractors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as operational needs require.
Ability to safely operate ladders, aerial lifts, forklifts, scaffolding, and other maintenance equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an arena, stadium, convention center, performing arts center, or other large public assembly venue.
Experience managing building automation systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Trade certification or licensure in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related skilled trade.
OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
Experience managing contractors and capital improvement projects.
Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and energy management practices.
Physical Requirements
Ability to routinely walk, stand, climb stairs, and access all areas of the facility.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work at heights using ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms.
Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, confined spaces, and varying environmental conditions.
Ability to respond to facility emergencies during and outside of normal business hours as operational needs require.
