Manager - Distribution Center I

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement in receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Optimize physical conditions of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.
  • Implement strategic process improvements within the DC and team to meet and exceed KPI goals.
  • Facilitate warehouse employee onboarding and retention by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Drive warehouse employees job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Active participation and demonstrated leadership to achieve team goals and objectives aligned with strategic deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Education and Formal Training & Experience: Associate or Bachelor degree in logistics, finance, Business Mgmt. or equivalent preferred
  • 5-10 yrs. Experience managing warehouse operations teams
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to details and sense of urgency
  • Able to handle high volume, fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Computer literate
  • Must have forklift certification
  • Ability to work without supervision, and lead others
  • Knowledge of HAZMAT handling and shipping processes and record keeping
  • Knowledge of general business practices and cost accounting principles
  • Experience dealing with all levels of management and with resolving customer issues
  • Strong communication and leadership skills a must
